At Headlands, beer is how we create spaces for connection, curiosity, and care for the world around us. What starts as a pint becomes a conversation. A moment becomes a memory. A community takes shape.

Rooted in the East Bay and inspired by the environment we love, we believe that if we’re going to make something people enjoy every day, we have a responsibility to protect what makes those moments possible.

That’s why we brew with intention: operating on 100% renewable electricity and embedding sustainability into how we show up, not just what we say. We’re proud partners of 1% for the Planet, committing at least 1% of all sales to environmental nonprofits working to safeguard our shared future.

Since joining in 2022, we’ve contributed over $196,000 to local environmental organizations—and we see that as a starting point, not a finish line.

PARK CONSERVANCY SERIES

West Coast IPAs Inspired by the San Francisco Bay.

Our rotating West Coast IPA series celebrates the landscapes that shape us—from coastlines to canyons. For every 4-pack sold, we donate $1 to the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, helping protect the places we love to explore.

OTTER WORLDLY

Our newest collaboration with The Marine Mammal Center has officially launched — exclusively at our beer gardens. For every 4-pack sold, $1 directly supports marine life rescue and rehabilitation along the California coast.

This delicious Hoppy Golden Lager was brewed with locally grown barley malted by Admiral Maltings, connecting coastal stewardship with responsible local sourcing.

Join us for the release party on Saturday, February 28th at our Berkeley (Westbrae) beer garden. We’re donating 10% of sales to The Marine Mammal Center. Plus, limited-edition merch will be available.

It truly is, “A Beer Like No Otter.”

PACIFIC POPPY

Pacific Poppy is a West Coast Pale Ale brewed in partnership with Save The Bay to support the protection and restoration of the San Francisco Bay.

Inspired by California’s state flower and the landscapes that define our region, this collaboration donated a portion of Pacific Poppy sales to Save The Bay’s work restoring wetlands, protecting shorelines, and ensuring the Bay remains a thriving place for future generations.

WEST COAST WHALE

We brewed West Coast Whale in collaboration with The Marine Mammal Center, supporting the rescue, rehabilitation, and protection of marine mammals along the California coast.

This crisp, hoppy Pilsner was brewed with locally grown barley malted by Admiral Maltings, connecting coastal stewardship with responsible sourcing closer to home.

EARTHBOUND

We brewed Earthbound as a collaboration rooted in protecting the waterways that make great beer possible. Through our partnership with Salmon-Safe, Earthbound supports responsible farming and brewing practices that help keep rivers, streams, and salmon habitats healthy from source to sea.

Earthbound is part of our ongoing commitment to working alongside organizations dedicated to long-term watershed health.

At Headlands, we know that building a better world doesn’t happen overnight. Sustainability is not a finish line, it’s a practice. One that requires curiosity, accountability, and a willingness to keep improving.

    We transitioned from plastic paktech carriers to paper can collars in 2023, reducing our plastic usage by 95%

    Our production utilizes a water recovery process technology that reduces usage at our Pittsburg brewery by more than 50%.
