At Headlands, we’re crafting a better future, one beer at a time. Born out of a love for our local community and a passion for the outdoors, we believe that great beer comes with great responsibility.

We want to ensure the fresh ingredients and awe-inspiring landscapes that go into making great beer and great moments are here forever, not just today. That’s why we’re proud partners of 1% for the Planet, the gold standard for corporate environmental philanthropy. As part of this membership, we are committed to donating at least 1% of all sales to support nonprofit organizations focused on the environment.

Since joining in 2022, Headlands has donated over $100,000 to local environmental non-profits, and we’re just getting started.

HEADLANDS X SAVE THE BAY

We’re proud to partner with Save The Bay on an exciting collaboration beer, coming later this year.

In the meantime, we’ve kicked things off in a big way—donating 10% of proceeds from our Walnut Creek taproom Grand Opening to support Save The Bay’s mission.

And it doesn’t stop there. Just last month, over 30 members of the Headlands team rolled up their sleeves to help clean up the MLK Shoreline in Oakland, working side by side with the Save The Bay crew.

HEADLANDS X GOLDEN GATE NATIONAL PARKS CONSERVANCY

Since 2023, we’ve partnered with The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy to collaborate on a series of West Coast IPAs. $1 from every 4-pack sold will be donated by Headlands Brewing to support the Parks Conservancy’s important work preserving Golden Gate National Parks.

We’ve partnered with Marine Mammal Center to create a wonderfully hoppy, crisp, and crushable Pilsner brewed with locally grown barley, malted by Admiral Maltings.

West Coast Whale is bursting with tasty tropical fruit character, home grown malt, and all for a good cause.

HEADLANDS X EARTHBOUND GERMAN-STYLE KÖLSCH

In honor of Earth Month 2025, we’ve brewed a German-Style Kölsch by sourcing barley and hops from Salmon-Safe farms with the goal of bringing awareness to the Salmon-Safe farming movement.

Hops are sourced from Crosby, and the barley was grown on a farm owned by 1% for the Planet Member, Western Rivers Conservancy. Headlands donated 10% of proceeds from our Earth Day parties (over $5000) to Salmon-Safe.org!

PACKAGING

We transitioned from plastic paktech carriers to paper can collars in 2023, reducing our plastic usage by 95%
PRODUCTION

All three of our taprooms run on 100% renewable energy.
Utilizing a water recovery process technology reduced usage at our Pittsburg brewery by more than 50%
TAPROOM

Utilize all compostable plates and silverware at our taproom, and encourage reusable water bottles with self service fountains.
MERCH

We source our merchandise from producers who share our values of sustainability, ethical operations, and product durability for waste reduction.
